Leap Year Fabric Sale!!!

Ok, so I'm always a sucker for a sale.  I just can. not. resist.   Am I the only one out there who has this problem?  I have to assure myself there will be other sales - if I don't make it to this one it'll be ok.
Jeeez!
My mom emailed this one to me this morning and thought I'd share it:

I browsed around a bit and they don't have a ton of modern fabrics, but they do have:
Kaffe Fasset
Amy Butler
Hometown - (some great text fabrics)

Here are some other links for some leap year sales:

Color Inspiration

While perusing Design Seeds for some color inspiration I found these beauties....
Maybe for my next project?

Cats and Quilts

How does she find them?

It's not even finished!
So cute though

Steady Progress

Slowly but surely I'm making progress on my hubby's quilt.

Now to sew them all together!
My goal is to have the top done this weekend........we'll see

Starting a Modern Quilt Guild Branch in West Michigan

I've always been a fan of the Modern Quilt Guild and unfortunately the closest branch to me is 3 hours away!  I have gone to a quilt guild meeting locally with my mom and it was a lot of fun.  However, I don't think there were too many modern quilters.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing because I have a fondness and appreciation for traditional quilts....but my love is modern and simplistic quilting.
What can I say!  I love everything about modern quilting.  I love basic prints and super love working with color wheel arrangements.
So...anyway - I'm going to try and start a branch for all those modern quilters out there in West Michigan.

Wish me luck

Obsessed with fabric

I've gone to many....I mean many fabric stores with my mom and I've always admired the different colors and prints, but was unable to do anything until now.
Since learning how to cut, piece and arrange fabrics I'm obsessed!
I visit many blogs and many online stores and just can't resist!
Some of my most recent obsessions are:
  • text/word fabrics
  • anything orange (which is weird because it's one of my LEAST favorite colors)
  • elephants
  • polka dots
  • weiner dogs
  • Mod Basics by Jay-Cyn Designs

More Mod Basics by Jay-Cyn Designs
All of these and more can be found here:

Who wouldn't love to add these to their stash?

all by myself...

so this is a lap quilt I made for my daughter....all by myself.  I will admit I called and texted my mom too many times to count, but for the most part it was all ME.

This was a monster to try and maneuver, but we got her done!!
Ohhhhh I love that feeling of finishing a project.

I created a Blog!!

Well it only took me an hour to get this thing figured out....not too bad!  I'm still trying to navigate everything and hopefully with some practice my blog will look as fun as the ones I'm always admiring.
