Anyway - I bought this charm pack of half moon modern awhile ago and had no clue what I was going to do with it, but couldn't resist :)
Started cutting it all up the other day with the intention of doing a fun chevron baby quilt....
Laid it out on the floor so I could decide on a pattern.........
Do you see a problem???????
I have about four teal blocks and a couple grey left - that's it!!
I don't know how I got an abundance of one color and just a few of the yellow and orange.
Now I know I'm new to this sewing thing, but is that common? This was a charm pack I bought - and I can't remember if it was disclosed as being a random selection or what. When buying a pack from a collection are the prints random or pretty even in number?
Guess I have to search for some more!......
Darn
Depending on the number of fabrics in the line, there's usually one fabric for each print in the charm pack and duplicates are added if needed to reach the total. In the Half Moon Modern collection, there are 10 gray prints, 10 aqua, 9 red, 7 green, 4 yellow, and 5 orange. Check out Moda's PDF for the fabric line to see what you're missing.
ReplyDeleteWell, that makes sense! I never knew that there weren't an equal number of prints for each color.....Thanks! Now I'll know to check first. I ordered another charm pack because I just love the chevron pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I just happen to be planning a quilt using a HMM jelly roll.
DeleteI love the chevron pattern too. Are you going to use one of the chevron prints for the back?
Not sure, but that would be a great idea! I also saw Riley Blake's new Chevron line coming in April....might have to get my hands on some of that!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you buy this kit? I've been looking EVERYWHERE and it only links me back to the PDF which you cannot buy from MODA directly.....so frustrating! Please email me at: karagrace78@hotmail.com :)
